Ryanair announces new route from Nottingham East Midlands to Rimini

30th November 2006 Print
Ryanair, low fares airline, has announced a new low fare route from Nottingham East Midlands and the popular Italian seaside resort of Rimini.

The three times a week service will start on March 27th next year and brings the number of Ryanair routes from NEMA to twenty-nine. Ryanair has increased fivefold the number of passengers it carries to/from Nottingham East Midlands in under a year while the number of routes has grown from 5 to 29, making Ryanair the largest airline at Nottingham East Midlands airport.

In 2007, 1.9M passengers will travel with Ryanair to and from NEMA for 50% less than the high fares charged by Easyjet. Not only is this great news for passengers but it is also a major boost for business and tourism in the region which will now enjoy an upsurge in year round visitors from continental Europe.

Announcing the new route today, Ryanair's UK Sales & Marketing Manager Caroline Baldwin said: "We are delighted to announce yet another exciting new route from East Midlands. Rimini, a city in Northern Italy on the Adriatic, is a beach lover's paradise offering sun, sea and sand in abundance. It's also Italy's party capital with copious beaches, amusement parks and a rocking nightlife. But it has culture too thanks to its Roman ruins and amphitheatre. And it is also the birthplace of film director Federico Fellini.

“The new route is available for booking today on www.ryanair.com. Fares start from just 1p plus tax* and we advise passengers to book early as demand will be very strong.”
