Liverpool's favourite airline Ryanair celebrates 6 million passengers
Ryanair, Europe's largest low fares airline celebrates carrying six Million passengers through Liverpool John Lennon Airport since commencing services there in 1988.Ryanair, Liverpool's favourite airline is celebrating by giving away a million free* seats (taxes reduced to zero) - one with each flight booked before the 18th January 2007.
In November 2004 Ryanair announced its 12th European base at LJLA with 4 new Boeing 737-800 series aircraft and 9 new European routes. In April 2006 a further 11 new routes were announced from its Liverpool base bringing the total number of based aircraft to seven. For this Winter season a further two Winter Sports destinations were added bringing the total number of routes to 34 and offering the most choice over any airline to Merseyside consumers.
