God save low fares, says Ryanair

20th April 2007 Print
Ryanair Ryanair, Europe's largest low fares airline, today (20th April 2007) celebrated the Queen's Birthday by slashing millions of fares to Europe. Ryanair are giving away 5 Million seats across Europe from just £10* one way including taxes & charges.

And to lead the celebrations, England's Monarch was in the cockpit of one of Ryanair's brand-new Boeing 737s!

Passengers at London Stansted Airport this morning were stunned to see Her Majesty waving from the cockpit of one of Ryanair's planes. But the Queen hadn't decided to become a pilot in her 81st year - it was a royal look-a-like joining in a cheeky bit of fun with the low fares airline.

And the celebrations continued in the afternoon as the Queen handed out free flight vouchers to everybody who turned up outside the London Eye to wish her a "happy birthday" with a card.

Ryanair's UK Sales & Marketing Manager Caroline Baldwin commented: "We're thrilled to wish the Queen a very happy 81st birthday. She would love flying with Ryanair. We've got the best on-time performance in Europe, so she'd never have to worry about being late for her royal appointments. She could use priority boarding to make sure she got the throne of her choice. And Ryanair is Europe's cleanest and greenest airline, which should keep Charles happy!

"But the lowest fares and best customer service in Europe aren't just for royalty, they're available to anybody. And to celebrate the Queen's Birthday, we've slashed fares from the UK to Europe - you can now fly from just £10 one-way including all taxes and charges.

"Now there's something to celebrate, ma'am."
