Ryanair.com celebrates busiest ever day
Ryanair, Europe’s largest low fares airline, yesterday (Wednesday, 16th May) announced that it had achieved its busiest ever day of trading on Ryanair.com, as the airline announced the World’s First Free Seat Sale (including taxes and charges). At 10.00am yesterday, Ryanair released 1 million free seats - no taxes, no fees, no charges, leading to slight technical difficulties with the Ryanair website as the Ryanair.com servers were inundated with demand for Free Flights.
Speaking last night, Michael Cawley, Ryanair’s Deputy CEO said:
“The Ryanair.com servers have been going into overdrive since we launched the World’s First Free Seat Sale (including taxes, fees and charges). There are 1 million free seats available for booking until midnight on Monday.
“This unprecedented level of demand from our customers across Europe led to slight technical difficulties which we are happy to report are now resolved. As there is such huge interest in this offer there may be unavoidable short delays in accessing the Ryanair website. We ask passengers to be patient and to facilitate your search we have also published a grid on Ryanair.com setting out the routes on which this offer is now available and the remaining level of availability in each month of travel.
“We urge all passengers to log onto Ryanair.com immediately, as these 1 million free seats are going fast”.
