Ryanair rejects “Tenpenny Management” jibe
Ryanair criticised the House of Commons Select Committee for its "tenpenny management" jibe and corrected the record by confirming that it only has ‘onepenny management’ by releasing 250,000 seats for sale on Ryanair.com for 24 hrs on the 26th July for just 1 penny including taxes for travel between November and January.Speaking on Thursday, Peter Sherrard said:
“The Transport Select Committee is a talking shop run by politicians who fly around for free using House of Commons warrants. The British Public's attitude to air travel is patently clear. They love Ryanair's low fares which is why Ryanair is growing by 20% p.a. at a time when British Airways is shrinking.
“The Transport Select Committee claims about Ryanair are simply untrue;
“Ryanair has never objected to the publication of its letter. Ryanair's traffic is growing by 20%, not 'falling' as claimed. Ryanair's £10 fares cost just £10 and not £25.50 as claimed. Ryanair has the best punctuality record of any UK airline with the fewest cancellations and the lowest rate of lost bags. Ryanair again calls on Gwyneth Dunwoody and her other 'free flyers' to investigate real issues of concern to passengers such as:
“Why is Gordon Brown stealing £10 from every passenger this year? Why are millions of Britons stuck in queues at airport security this summer? Why are millions of British visitors spending longer in passport queues at British Airports than they did on board their flights to get here?
“Ryanair will be happy to attend any meeting of the Transport Committee which deals with these real concerns of our 50 million passengers”.
