Ryanair signs agreement with Energylinx
Ryanair, has announced an agreement with UK energy price comparison site, Energylinx, the No.1 guide to gas and electricity prices in the UK. Visitors to the Ryanair website will be able compare the prices that they pay for energy at home and transfer to a cheaper energy supplier through the simple to use, free of charge service.Since 2003, Ryanair has guaranteed no fuel surcharges ever for UK consumers however during that time UK Energy prices have risen by 78% for domestic gas and 57% for domestic electricity. In cash terms, this means that a typical domestic energy customer is now paying £953 per annum for gas and electricity - whereas in 2003 that figure was only £543 per annum.
With already over 4 million households in fuel poverty (where 10% of their income is spent on energy costs) every 1% increase in energy costs pushes a further 40,000 households to this situation. On Ryanairenergy.com's innovative, impartial and free service, the average household can easily save up to £325 per annum.
Announcing the agreement, Ryanair's Head of Ancillary Revenue Santina Doherty said:
"For the guaranteed lowest airfares, UK consumers know that Ryanair.com is the only place to look. Now those consumers looking for the lowest energy prices will be able to find them simply and easily using the free and impartial instant comparison on Ryanairenergy.com".
