Ryanair says no future for high fares

11th September 2008 Print
Ryanair has further intensified its campaign against high airfares as it released 3 million seats for travel in September and October for just £1 one way (including taxes and charges). These tickets can be booked only on ryanair.com for 5 days from Wednesday 10th to Sunday 14th of September.

This 3 million seat sale underlines Ryanair’s guarantee of the lowest fares and no fuel surcharges this winter while others such as Alitalia, Air France, British Airways and Lufthansa raise fares and fuel surcharges.

Speaking today in Belfast, Ryanair’s Bridget Dowling said:

“At the same time as another High Fare Airline goes bust, Ryanair continues to reduce fares this winter and our latest seat sale will allow passengers travel across Europe in September and October for just £1 a seat. There is no future in high fares and only Ryanair guarantees the lowest fares and no fuel surcharge.

“Ryanair strongly advises all passengers to book these £1 seats directly on Ryanair.com and avoid screenscraper, ticket-tout, websites who add on hidden mark-ups of between 200% to 300% on top of Ryanair’s ticket prices.

“This 3 million £1 seat sale in September and October proves that Ryanair has replaced the era of low fares air travel with a new period of lowest ever airfares. Ryanair guarantees that no one will beat our fares so we urge passengers to book these £1 seats in September and October on ryanair.com before midnight on Sunday.”
