Ryanair seat sale delivers record booking numbers

24th September 2008 Print
Ryanair yesterday recorded its highest ever level of bookings in a single day with sales of 250,000 free seats in its massive 2 million free seat sale which commenced at midnight on the 22nd. Despite the twin trials of credit crunch and economic gloom people still recognise that Ryanair offers unbeatable and guaranteed lowest fares.

Commenting on the record bookings, Ryanair’s Deputy Chief Executive, Michael Cawley said:

“We are used to setting records in Ryanair but today’s performance has surpassed even our highest expectations. Ryanair’s lowest fare guaranteed, free (including taxes and charges) has proved irresistible to even greater numbers of passengers who see through the empty promises of the high fare airlines with their high fares and even higher fuel surcharges. Nobody matches Ryanair’s low fares and nobody takes bookings on the scale that Ryanair does.

"As this seat sale must end at midnight on Thursday night, we are advising passengers to book early as their preferred itineraries may be sold out given the huge level of bookings we are enjoying.

"To help you to access your chosen itinerary, we have published an availability grid which can be viewed on ryanair.com.”
