Ryanair launches New Year price war
Ryanair today launched the first attack in its New Year’s price war in a move that could help transform the fortune of UK retailers as it instructed European passengers to storm the UK in order to take full advantage of the UK Sterling exchange rate as Ryanair cut its guaranteed lowest fares to just £5 on 300 routes throughout Europe.Ryanair also called on UK passengers to snap up the unbeatable £5 fares to/from the UK in order to escape the post Christmas January blues with a great value trip to Europe.
Ryanair’s 1 Million £5 seats are available for booking until midnight Sunday 11 January for travel in January, February and March.
Ryanair’s Stephen McNamara said: “Ryanair’s New Year price war will make it even easier for passengers to take advantage of Europe’s guaranteed lowest fares and no fuel surcharges. With the UK exchange rate making the UK a more attractive destination and UK retailers enticing shoppers with huge sales, it has never been a better time for Europeans to invade the shops of the UK. However, we recognise that passengers in the UK also need a New Year pick me up and an unbeatable £5 flight from the UK will help to lift the spirits and provide something to look forward to as many people return to work.
"This £5 seat sale is phase one of our New Year price war and Ryanair pledges that throughout 2009 Europe’s guaranteed lowest fares and no fuel surcharges promise will only be found at Ryanair.com .”
