Ryanair announces two new routes at East Midlands

Ryanair today announced that it will add two new routes from East Midlands Airport in July - to Barcelona (Reus) and Palma. Ryanair now has thirty-four routes from East Midlands and the latest two will increase Ryanair’s traffic at the airport to over 2 million passengers per annum which will sustain 2,000 local jobs.

Ryanair will close its East Midlands to Paris (Beauvais) route from July to accommodate these two new routes.

Ryanair celebrated this further expansion of its East Midlands base by releasing one million £10 seats for travel across its European network in April, May and June.

These low fares are now available for booking on Ryanair.com.

Speaking at East Midlands Airport today, Ryanair’s UK Marketing Manager John Booty said: “East Midlands today celebrates two new routes from July 2009 which are now on sale. With a total of 34 low fare routes from East Midlands this summer, passengers can beat the recession by choosing Ryanair’s guaranteed lowest fares and no fuel surcharges to exciting destinations all over Europe. Ryanair’s 2 million passengers will sustain 2,000 jobs locally in East Midlands in 2009.
