6th April 2009 Print
Ryanair has announced the appointment of Mr. Ken O’Toole as Director of New Route Development. In this role Ken will be responsible for the continued expansion and management of the Ryanair route network, the allocation of aircraft fleet, commercial relationships with airports and drive to reduce airport costs.

A Chartered Accountant, Ken joined Ryanair in 2006 as Yield Manager and was responsible for the revenue management of the Ryanair route network, since 2008 he has held the position of Head of Scheduled Revenue with specific responsibility for the Scandinavian, German and Dutch markets.

Announcing the appointment, Ryanair’s Deputy Chief Executive, Michael Cawley said:

“I am delighted today to announce the appointment of Mr. Ken O’Toole as Director of New Route Development. Since 2000 Ryanair has increased its route network from a mere 36 routes to over 800 routes today. In the immediate term we forecast a 15% rise in passenger traffic from 58.4m to 67.0m between 2009 and 2010.

“Ryanair is the only airline capable of delivering this level of growth and I am confident that Ken, with his commercial background and Ryanair experience to date, will significantly shape the future of Ryanair and that of the European air transport industry.

“By further reducing airport costs Ryanair will continue to deliver lower fares to passengers and deliver to our airport partners’ volume growth in an environment where all other operators are withdrawing capacity and reducing passenger volumes”.
