Recession hit charities compete for Ryanair calendar funds

Ryanair has confirmed that it has received double the number of applications from charities hoping to partner with it for the €100,000 proceeds of its 2010 edition of its famous Cabin Crew Charity Calendar.

Ryanair received over 100 applications for its 2009 calendar from charities throughout Europe and has already received over 200 applications this year with a week still to go before the applications deadline.

Ryanair urged charities which are feeling the pinch of the recession to ensure their application for the charity partnership is submitted to Ryanair by emailing ryanaircharitycalendar@ryanair.com before Friday 25th September.

Ryanair’s Stephen McNamara said:

“Ryanair has been inundated with applications to partner with us for our 2010 Cabin Crew Charity Calendar underlining that the recession has had a big impact on the ability of charities to raise much needed funds. Last year’s Cabin Crew Charity Calendar was a phenomenal success with all 10,000 copies snapped up within weeks of the launch, raising €100,000 for the Dublin Simon Community.

“The deadline for applications to partner with us for this year’s calendar is fast approaching and charities interested in receiving €100,000 from this year’s calendar have until Friday 25th September to apply for the proceeds of the 2010 Ryanair Cabin Crew Charity Calendar simply by emailing their application to ryanaircharitycalender@ryanair.com”.

Registered charities can apply to become the official partner of the 2010 Ryanair Cabin Crew Charity Calendar partner by emailing ryanaircharitycalendar@ryanair.com before Friday 25th September. Charities should provide:

1. A brief background/history of the charity and its work.
2. What the €100,000 proceeds of the 2010 Charity Calendar will be specifically used for.
3. Suggestions on how the 2010 Cabin Crew Charity Calendar can be the best yet.
