Cars Direct begins 2009 with new business win
Cars Direct, the UK’s leading on-line vehicle remarketing company, has started off 2009 with the addition of BMW Group to their already impressive portfolio.Cars Direct has signed a 3 year contract with BMW Group, to hold an online sale on the first Monday of every month. The first sale in February achieved great results, with approximately 100 buyers registered to participate. The auctions feature ex-lease, and financial services cars from across both the BMW and MINI ranges. Each month will see up to 200 vehicles offered through Cars Direct different sales channels, including Buy-it-Now, Wholesale and Open sale platforms on the company’s website.
The monthly online auction allows buyers the ease and flexibility of purchasing quality, nearly-new vehicles without ever having to leave the comfort of their own home, and without having to worry about the stress if they have never attended a physical auction. Cars Direct’s website is easy to navigate and thanks to comprehensive reports and online inspection images, buyers can be assured that the vehicle they are purchasing is of the highest standard.
“We are delighted to have been appointed by BMW Group to hold a monthly online auction of their vehicles,” commented Carol Stevens, National Sales and Marketing Manager at Cars Direct. “We feel that this will be a very successful partnership and believe our ability to offer a number of alternative routes to market will make this possible. The ease and flexibility of our online electronic platform will allow BMW Group to access management reporting, inspections and photographs and the status of their stock remotely. We are also delighted that we can offer our buyers the chance to purchase vehicles of such exceptional quality with great ease through our user friendly electronic platforms.”
This news comes on the back of impressive results reported by Cars Direct in 2008. Despite the current economic down turn, Cars Direct were able to build on the already strong results from 2007, which saw an increase of fifty percent in the number of vehicles entered into the three weekly online sales, and to sell almost double the amount of vehicles in 2008.
“We anticipate that our trend for growth will continue in 2009 and beyond. We are confident that the significant advantages offered by our versatile online platform will see Cars Direct win other major clients this year.”
