Spanair increases flights from Gerona

15th March 2007 Print
On the 10th of April, Spanair will increase operations on the Madrid-Gerona route, launched on the 29th of January 2007, offering 3 daily weekday flights between the two cities, with times adapted to the requirements of business passengers. Likewise, the weekend service on this route is also being improved, with an increased Sunday service.

The additional flights will improve connections to Spanair's extensive domestic and international network, as well as with other inter-continental destinations offered by Star Alliance member companies.

In addition, from the 20th of July until the 11th of September, Spanair will offer 3 new routes from Gerona to Palma de Mallorca, Mahon and Ibiza, with flight times adapted to the needs of leisure passengers.

"We have been very happy by the welcome that Gerona has shown us over these initial months of operations. Because of this, and along with our desire to respond to the strong demand that has been generated, we are strengthening the Madrid-Gerona route and increasing our offer from the city with new flights to the Balearic Islands", states Lars Nygaard, CEO of Spanair. He also adds "This shows once more that Spanair is banking on Catalonia as a fundamental part of its development".

With their collaboration, the territorial institutions (Generalitat de Catalunya, Diputació de Gerona and the Cámara de Comerç de Gerona) have made the increased flights and new routes a reality, and they have expressed their satisfaction at the positive market reaction and that Spanair's announcement points to a promising future.

Passengers travelling on these routes will benefit from the advantages offered by our Punctuality Guarantee, which also applies to the full range of our scheduled domestic flight network. As well as this, they can count on a high level of service, on-board as well as on the ground that Spanair's regular clients already enjoy.
