On the 13th of November, Spanair opened its new Lounge in Terminal 2 of Madrid-Barajas Airport. Complete with innovative design, it provides an elegant and comfortable environment featuring vanguard furniture and a panoramic view of the runways through its 20 metre-long window.

The Lounge's excellent location allows passengers easy access to its facilities from the Terminal 2 check-in area, as well as speedy access to the boarding gates.

This Lounge, with a surface area of almost 800 sq.m. features increased individual work stations with IT equipment and a free internet connection. Passengers are also able to enjoy traditional services such as a choice of Spanish and international newspapers and magazines, TV, fax and a high-speed wireless connection.

Further advantages provided by the Lounge include a meeting room that can be accessed by members of the Spanair frequent flyer programme who are holders of the Spanair Plus Gold card, as well as a smoking area. A catering service offering greater choice is another of the novelties of the recently-opened Lounge.

"Spanair's new Lounge in Terminal 2 of Madrid-Barajas Airport will contribute to ensuring optimum service for our passengers with connecting flights and prior boarding by facilitating the resources for working or relaxing in the best atmosphere", stated Marcus Hedblom, Spanair's CEO.

Spanair was founded in 1986 and offers more than 600 daily flights operated with a fleet of 63 aircraft and in code share with its partners, to 241 destinations. Since April 2003, Spanair is a member of Star Alliance, the largest and most prestigious airline network in the world.
