Spanair strengthens position in Jerez de la Frontera

10th April 2008 Print
Jerez de la Frontera is one of Spanair's key destinations. On its routes to and from Jerez de la Frontera, Spanair has the most extensive domestic flight network as well as being the second placed company in terms of passenger volume.

New routes
Spanair will bolster its operations in Jerez de la Frontera for the summer period. It will launch routes to link Jerez and Tenerife Sur, and Jerez and Gran Canarias, with flights available to passengers every Thursday. These two routes will be exclusively operated by Spanair.

More flights
The company offers four daily flights between Jerez and Madrid from Monday to Friday, plus two on the weekend. In addition, the Jerez-Bilbao route, for which Spanair has a 100% market share, will feature a daily flight, with the carrier increasing flights in comparison to the winter season. Spanair will also introduce a daily flight between Jerez and Barcelona, which will also extend its flight offer for this route compared to the winter period.

It is also relevant to note that approximately 10% of passengers choose Business Avant class on the routes linking Jerez with the cities of Madrid and Barcelona.

"We are pleased to be able to offer passengers more flights and destinations to and from Jerez de la Frontera", states Marcus Hedblom, Spanair's CEO. "This destination is very important for our company, and we therefore have a firm commitment to the Andalusian city in terms of providing users with the best service and the most comfortable flying conditions as far as frequencies, schedule and routes are concerned. Our aim is to meet the requirements of both business and holiday passengers", he adds.

Punctuality Guarantee
As is the case with our complete domestic flight network, passengers flying this route will benefit from the advantages offered by our renewed Punctuality Guarantee. They will also enjoy the traditional high levels of service offered to Spanair customers, both at the airport and on board.

Spanair was founded in 1986 and offers more than 600 daily flights, operated with a fleet of 63 aircraft and in code share with its partners, to 241 destinations. Since April 2003, Spanair is a member of Star Alliance, the largest and most prestigious airline network in the world.
