15th December 2008 Print
bmibaby is reporting a surge in customers snapping up pre Christmas bargains from East Midlands, Manchester, Birmingham International and Cardiff International Airport.

The low cost airline has followed suit of the high street and for one week only has cut all its prices by up to 40% on every route and every date from December 2008 to October 2009. There are no date exclusions and the sale ends at midnight on Tuesday 16 December 2008.

Since bmibaby launched the sale on 9 December, visitor traffic to the website has increased by 150% and bookings are up by 50%. Typical savings include:

- East Midlands to Mahon: Was £46.99, now just £31.99 one way including taxes and charges

- Manchester to Perpignan: Was £40.99, now just £25.99 one way including taxes and charges

- Birmingham to Prague: Was £36.99, now just £21.99 one way including taxes and charges

- Cardiff to Malaga: Was £39.99, now just £24.99 one way including taxes and charges

Passengers booking seats for 2009 can make huge savings on the recently announced new routes from East Midlands to Almeria and Menorca, from Manchester to Toulouse and Amsterdam, and from Cardiff to Lisbon, plus every other destination that bmibaby fly to including Malaga, Alicante and Palma Mallorca.

Crawford Rix, managing director, bmibaby, said:

“Traditionally consumers find great bargains in the January sales. However the major retailers on the high street are cutting their prices before Christmas and bmibaby has decided to do the same.

“The amount of flights that we are selling shows that if the price is right, consumers will not delay booking.”

“Despite the credit crunch, people are not willing to give up their holidays especially with discounts of up to 40% off flights. Customers should book now to secure an extremely low fare.”
