Low cost airline bmibaby treated passengers on route from Manchester to Prague to a very different kind of in-flight entertainment last Friday (13 August).

As part of bmibaby’s ‘enterplanement’ season the Prague State Opera joined passengers on board the flight to give a performance by their most acclaimed soprano, offering a unique opportunity to experience traditional Prague entertainment at 30,000 feet!

Vera Likerova, a soprano opera singer, showcased her talents to the bmibaby passengers during a ten minute performance of traditional operatic melodies. Vera Likerova performs as a regular guest of the Prague State Opera.

This innovative form of in-flight entertainment, or ‘Enterplanement’ aims to give local acts the chance to showcase the culture and tradition of their country as well as raising awareness of artists and businesses.

Starting the enterplanement season on the flight to Prague, bmibaby will be showcasing the best acts from its European destinations over the coming months, with Venice taking place next.

The footage will be posted on the bmibaby Twitter and Facebook fan pages early next week for those not lucky enough to be onboard the flight.

Julian Carr, managing director, bmibaby, said:

“We fly to 30 popular European destinations and wanted to look at ways in which we could bring those places to life and inspire people to visit them.

“As well as putting the fun back into flying, we thought we could do something more interactive and actually have representatives of the destinations on a few flights!

“Ultimately we want our customers to enjoy the experience, and we hope that it gives them ideas and suggestions about what to do and see in a destination that they might not read in the standard tourist brochure or guide book.”
