Ladies who ski

13th December 2006 Print
Ladies who ski With claims of ten male skiers to every female in the resort of St. Anton, it’s perhaps not surprising that the local tourist office is readdressing the balance and marketing a special `ladies week’ from 14th –21st April 2007.

Known as the `cradle of skiing’, St. Anton attracts worldwide acclaim for its challenging, well groomed slopes, though equally world class is its multi-level wellness centre and chic shops. Girls are welcomed with a week’s pass to the Arlberg-well.com centre, 6 day lift pass, 6 day’s tuition, 7 night’s 4* half board and daily entertainment programme from only 767 euros

Now in its 10th year, the St. Anton ladies’ week originally included girls-only ski and snowboard classes, though these were curtailed after it was guests agreed mixed classes were more fun. While the drive to encourage more ladies to ski together has been popular the timing, designed to combine the best of sunshine and snow with un-crowded slopes, maximises the fun. As well as concessionary rates for the spa centre, ladies are invited to test out next season’s ski equipment in test centre and special live and evening entertainment is held throughout the resort.
