Austria hosts Starlight Stüblchase ski challenge

Spend a fun-filled day on the slopes, engaged in friendly competition, all for a good cause! There are still 3 spots left in this year's Stüblchase, held in Austria's beautiful Saalbach-Hinterglemm ski resort in support of the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Take the ultimate enjoyment-endurance test this winter in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, one of Austria’s finest (and largest) ski resorts. In one day, race other teams to visit as many of the 46 mountain huts as possible, spread across 200kms of piste.

As you carve and cruise across acres of fresh snow, you will be helping the Starlight Children’s Foundation in their wonderful work to care for sick children everywhere. Funds raised from this year’s event will be used to send critically-ill children and their families to the Santa Claus village in Lapland this Christmas.

The Starlight Stüblchase is as much a test of piste map reading skills as skiing; open to all levels of skier as you will be competing against teams of all abilities to be crowned “King of the Mountain Restaurants”.

Inaugurated in 2006; it will be even more fun in 2007 as more and more teams rise to the challenge (N.B. the event is limited to just ten teams of four - so reserve your places early!). This unique event runs over four days - although you are welcome to stay on for the full week and enjoy all of Saalbach-Hinterglemm’s legendary Ski Circus (at a more leisurely pace!) and of course its superb apres ski...

Entry fee is £750 per person, or £580 per person with the remainder of the fee to be raised in donations. If you are interested in this option, please contact the Starlight Foundation for a sponsorship form.

07:30 Cable car opens early to transport all chasers to our sunrise
