Party on the piste: Snowbombing 2007

Taking place between 9th and 15th April 2007, the musical line-up includes top bands and DJs, as over 3,000 British snow sport and music enthusiasts flock for a fiesta that stretches across mountains, streets and nightclubs. Mayrhofen is one of Europe’s top late skiing resorts, with good snow security and the Hintertux glacier a free bus ride away.
Direct return coach travel from 11 UK cities has been laid on by the organisers and accommodation packages range from £219 - £319 for 6 nights in a self-catered apartment or hotel.
This year’s event takes in Easter Weekend, giving revellers the opportunity to enjoy a full week of partying and travel back on Easter Monday. Events will take place in clubs, bars and at mountain-top gigs, where bands will play in the fresh air against a backdrop of snowy Austrian mountains, at 2000m above sea level. A new après-ski rock & roll element includes live music performances from mid-afternoon until the early hours.
Fancy dress parties, 24 hour bars, snowmen making competitions, egg-and-spoon racing, Arctic discos, pub quiz nights, brass band performances and comedy nights are all planned, as are a full schedule of day and night-time music performances.

Free entry to all events is with a Snowbombing wristband, which is included in the cost of a holiday package, from £219 for a week’s stay in a choice of self-catered apartments, to £319 for six nights B&B in a choice of 4* hotels. Or a limited number of Snowbombing Event passes are available for £99, to include entrance to all Snowbombing music events and other activities, discount on transfers, equipment hire, lift pass and tuition.
To transport Brits from across the UK to the heart of the Tirol, the organizers have chartered a fleet of luxury coaches (Snowbombing Express) departing on 8th April and returning back into the UK on 16th April, with reclining seats, DVD’s and videos, air conditioning and toilets. The Snowbombing Express will pick up party goers, skiers and boarders from 11 UK cities, with a return coach journey costing from only £80 for a return seat from London or Dover, £85 from Newcastle, £90 from Blackpool, Leeds, Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol and £100 from Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Flights from various UK airports to Innsbruck, Munich and Salzburg will be met by transfer coaches on 8th and 9th and returning again on 15th and 16th April, for £25 for a single journey (Innsbruck £15).
