A new igloo village is being created in Kitzbuhel’s ski area, the Streiteckmulde, close by the Hahnenkamm mountain, encompassing an Igloo church, a children’s igloo, an Igloo Hotel, a Wellness Igloo, an Igloo Bar, Shop, Restaurant and Village Square., all open to the public. The Igloo hotel is furnished with high-quality isomats and reindeer skins while the polar sleeping bags have a fleece lining so that no one gets cold feet. Up to eight people can sleep in the standard igloo, the VIP igloo is designed for a twosome. In the evening everyone eats together in the Igloo Restaurant, sitting round a large table and enjoying fondue. There are no showers, but simple sanitary facilities with washing amenities and toilets. The opening is planned for 23 December 2007. Cande-lit Igloo and skinny dipping in the snow
In the Ötztal the 2007 Icegloo Village will be built at the foot of the Rettenbachferner mountain and take four weeks to construct. It will comprise eight igloos, each for four people, and eight double suites plus a spacious lounge igloo with capacity for 48 guests in all. Skiers can take a break in the lounge to warm their hands over tea and mulled wine. Candlelight is the sole form of lighting, it conjures up an almost mystical atmosphere. Party night’s all white in the Zillertal
The Zillertal’s White Lounge Igloo Bar, comprising of 10 igloos around a central igloo with a bar, dining facilities, chill out areas and romantic niches, is being built for winter 2007 on the Ahorn plateau in the midst of all the Zillertal piste. The outside snow bar plays easy-going lounge music, party night is every Tuesday and a DJ provides the club feeling at the turntable. All the sleeping igloos feature works of art of snow and dinner is served in the igloo. The sauna can take 10 to 15 people, the rest room is heated. There is also a heated changing room. A party night package costs € 133,00 and includes an overnight stop with breakfast and dinner, the ascent by Ahorn lift and, on the morning after, a warming cup of tea or a restorative beer.
