Ski season kicks of early at lastminute.com

Online travel and leisure retailer lastminute.com is witnessing a surge of ski searches on its site as this season is starting early with metres of fresh snow already covering the pistes in some of the top resorts around the world.

Snow is dumping down in ski resorts in the Alps and the US at the moment prompting early openings in a large number of resorts:

- St Anton – Switzerland - is opening on 30 November

- Verbier – Switzerland – is opening on 16 November

- Whistler – Canada – is opening on 30 November

- Lake Louise – Canada – opened on 10 November

- Kitzbuhel – Austria – has opened six weeks early

- Breckenbridge – USA – opened on 10 November

- Panorama – Canada – opened on 7 November

- Tignes Glacier – France – already opened although not accessible at the moment due to more heavy snow downpours

The 2007 – 2008 season is well set to be one of the best seasons for Europe as well as the US.
