Heading to the ski slopes this winter?

22nd October 2008 Print
As holidaymakers start to make plans for this winter’s ski season, International Currency Exchange (ICE) is advising travellers to buy their travel money in advance to make sure they get the best deal.

“Between checking the ski equipment, the weather reports & snow levels and remembering the sun block, it’s easy to leave buying holiday currency until the last minute,” says Andrew Hamilton, Head of Marketing for ICE. “Anyone heading to ski resorts in Austria, France, Italy or Switzerland should consider getting their Euros or Swiss Francs before they get to the airport. Similarly, skiers and boarders who fancy trying out the slopes in US and Canada should buy their respective Dollars now to get more bang for their buck.”

Travellers can simply log on to iceplc.com to order their currency – it will even be delivered free of charge to their home address the next day, and without added commission, if £300 or more is ordered. Alternatively, they can choose a convenient point of pick-up from an extensive choice of stations and airports listed on the ICE website. ICE offers highly competitive online rates without added commission charges, providing an easy to use and secure online exchange service at low cost and high convenience.

In addition the new ICE Travellers cashcard allows holidaymakers to put their spending money on a prepaid PIN protected card, offering protection from theft and fraud.

“Our online service means skiers can buy their foreign currency at the click of a button, saving time and money, which means more time on the slopes” confirmed Andrew Hamilton. “It’s tempting for travellers to wait and get money out of the ATM once they arrive, or pay for things on credit card, but buying in advance means they can fix their low rate and avoid additional bank or commission charges. Buying now means that holidaymakers can focus on enjoying the après ski.”
