Slope off with Air Southwest ski packages Air Southwest has teamed up with Harvey World Travel to offer a range of skiing holidays this winter, as the airline launches new flights to Grenoble from Plymouth and Newquay.

The region’s own low fare airline starts a weekly service to the French Alps from Plymouth City Airport and Newquay Cornwall Airport next month and customers can now enjoy seven nights self-catering, including flights from just £269 per person.

Air Southwest deputy chief executive Mike Coombes said: “For many people, a long road journey to a distant airport is an off-putting start to any holiday, so our new flights direct from Plymouth and Newquay have been extremely well received. It has never been easier to enjoy a ski break from Devon and Cornwall.”

Harvey World Travel Plymouth manger Gaynor Bartlett said: “We are delighted to be working with Air Southwest to offer ATOL protected ski holidays flying direct from Plymouth and Newquay. More people are taking to skiing than ever before, and the French Alps combined with the convenience of a local departure airport, are a great choice both for new and experienced skiers.”

Earlier this year, would-be skiers enjoyed taster ski sessions at Plymouth Ski Centre courtesy of Air Southwest and Harvey World Travel to celebrate the start of the new flights.

Flights from Plymouth and Newquay to Grenoble run on Saturdays from 20 December 2008 to 28 March 2009. Fares start from £39 each way including taxes, bookable online at airsouthwest.com.

The winter ski offers are available to book now at Harvey World Travel’s Plymouth store and nine shops across Cornwall.
