Ski Sunday returns – Time to book your winter holiday

Ski Sunday returns – Time to book your winter holiday When the first bars of Pop Looks Bach, the legendary tune that introduces the BBC’s Ski Sunday, are heard this weekend (10 January 2009), it is a sure sign that the 08/09 winter ski season is in full swing.

If the music just wants to make you put on your skis and take to the slopes, then look no further than Switzerland’s Adelboden, which hosts FIS World Cup Slalom and Grand Slalom events on January 10 & 11. Replicate the scene by simply downloading Pop Looks Bach on to your iPod and schuss down the championship course with the confidence of a pro!

Solís Cambrian Hotel & Spa in Adelboden has created a FIS World Cup Ski Experience to help make dreams a reality. The mid-week package – perfect, you’ll have the Championship course to yourself (maybe) – includes four nights’ accommodation (Will it be a deluxe with panoramic view, a family room or maybe a duplex under the eaves?), daily buffet breakfast and a four-day ski pass.

The package costs from CHF869 (approx £504) for single occupancy and from CHF1,058 (approx £614) for two people sharing. The package can be booked through the Solís Cambrian Hotel & Spa website, solisadelboden.com.
