Skiing with royal connections
You don’t have to be rich or famous to enjoy a skiing holiday in Klosters – a resort favoured by Prince Charles and his family – is the message from the Switzerland Travel Centre.Although this pretty Swiss village has long been associated with royalty, film stars and the ‘jet set’, it still remains a typical, friendly Swiss village, with picturesque chalets, horse-drawn sleighs and cosy bars and restaurants.
There’s excellent skiing for all abilities on 190 miles of pistes, along with 32 kms of scenic cross-country trails, some of which are illuminated at night.
The company is highlighting a selection of affordable hotels in Klosters including the three-star Hotel Sport offering a wealth of facilities such as large indoor pool, sauna, solarium, gym and bowling alley.
A seven-night holiday costs, for example, £804 per person (twin share) in February (excluding week commencing the 14th) inclusive of return flights from Heathrow, rail transfers and half-board accommodation. This price drops to £734 per person for the remainder of the season.
