DriveTech adds to its awards tally

17th April 2009 Print
The wide ranging expertise of Berkshire-based DriveTech in the world of driver education has been recognised once again, this time by the Institute of Traffic Management (ITM).

The ITM has awarded DriveTech the coveted title of ‘Driver Safety Solutions Specialist 2009’, an accolade which the company won on three occasions in the past and which sits alongside the four other awards it has won from the ITM in the past nine years.

Commenting in reaction to the news about the award, Managing Director Jim Kirkwood said: “We’re very pleased to be recognised by a body which represents the whole of the transportation industry, not just the sector in which DriveTech operates.

“Clearly safety is top of the agenda for all of those who work in the transportation industry and those who have responsibility for safely guiding to their destinations planes, trains and ships are obviously trained to an extremely high level. We are trying to apply the same sort of philosophy to those who drive vehicles for a living, as well helping private motorists make better informed decisions whilst behind the wheel.”

The ITM issued the award on the basis of DriveTech’s diverse involvement in driver education across the board.

Apart from servicing the wide-ranging needs of some 280 corporate fleet customers, with everything from online driver assessments and driving licence checks to practical training courses and online e-learning, DriveTech now operates some 20 different schemes on behalf of over a dozen different police forces up and down the country, whereby drivers can opt for an educational workshop in preference to receiving a fine and points on their licence.

The ITM Award is the ninth trade title that DriveTech has won in the past seven months.
