Autotorq maximizes scrappage scheme opportunity for dealers

22nd April 2009 Print
Autotorq, the leading provider of cutting-edge dealer and manufacturer web platform and e-marketing services, has developed and integrated the online capability to help dealers maximise the benefits of the government scrappage scheme.

The new feature available to autotorq’s clients will allow dealers to quickly and easily raise awareness of the new scrappage scheme to potential customers, advising them of their vehicle’s eligibility under the scheme and engaging them to generate a specific enquiry to the dealer.

Stewart Niblock, Chief Operating Officer of autotorq, said, “We welcome the news that the government will introduce a scrappage scheme in the UK and believe it will provide a huge boost the automotive retail market, providing dealers are supported with the best online tools and services to satisfy the demand generated.”

The scheme has received widespread support throughout the motor industry and autotorq believes it is vital to provide members of the retail network with the tools to enable them to immediately capitalize on the business opportunities that the scheme presents.

Stewart continued, “Our clients on the continent, in those countries that already have a scrappage incentive scheme in place have seen a significant surge in business, with increases of around 80% in web site traffic and a 50% increase in leads generated – we know how much of a difference this can make to our dealers in the current climate so we wanted to ensure our websites give them the opportunity to turn the undoubted consumer interest into genuine leads.”

Steve Fowler, editor of What Car?, said: “Supporting the dealer and distribution network is key to ensuring the long-term sustainability of the UK motor industry. The national scrappage scheme will direct consumers towards dealers and bring more footfall into showrooms.”
