Virgin Atlantic prepares for Mauritius route launch

“I am looking forward to working with them towards the start of our twice weekly service from London to Mauritius. After an extensive tender process, we felt that Currimjee Jeewanjee was a good fit for Virgin and would be at the forefront of promoting our product not only in Mauritius but also in the region.”
Currimjee Jeewanjee & Co. Ltd was established in 1890, originally trading in commodities. Since then, the company has diversified into sectors such as telecommunications, media, IT, real estate, tourism and finance and is active both in Mauritius and the region.
Virgin Atlantic will commence services between London Gatwick and Mauritius twice a week on Mondays and Fridays on a Boeing 747-400 aircraft from 29 October this year.
All flights to Mauritius will be operated on aircraft fitted with the Upper Class Suite. The Upper Class Suite consists of a reclining leather seat for take off, a place to sit and eat a proper meal opposite your partner, the longest fully flat bed in the world with a proper mattress for sleeping on.
Since it was founded in 1984, Virgin Atlantic Airways has become Britain’s second largest long haul carrier, serving the world’s major cities. Now based at London Gatwick, London Heathrow and Manchester airports, Virgin operates 37 aircraft and flies to 27 destinations worldwide with further services launching to Chicago, and Nairobi later this year.
