Virgin Atlantic launches services to Mauritius

Virgin Atlantic launches services to Mauritius Virgin Atlantic Airways on Sunday launches its first non-stop service between London Heathrow and Mauritius. The services will be operated by an Airbus A340-300 with 240 seats onboard - 34 Upper Class, 35 Premium Economy and 171 Economy.

The first flight will arrive in Mauritius at 1050 on the morning of 29 October and will receive the traditional ‘water salute’ from the Airport Fire Brigade in celebration of its arrival. Passengers will be greeted by a local Creole band as they disembark.

Andrew Fyfe, Regional Manager, Middle East and Indian Ocean, said:

Services between London Heathrow and Mauritius will operate twice a week on Fridays and Sundays from Heathrow and Saturdays and Mondays from Mauritius. This destination is the airline’s 29th route worldwide with its 30th being launched to Kingston, Jamaica this week.

Flights from Heathrow will depart on Fridays at 20:00, arriving into Mauritius at 12:00 the following day and departures on a Sunday from Heathrow leave at 18:50 arriving into Mauritius at 10:50 the following morning. Return flights from Mauritius depart on Saturdays at 14:00 arriving into Heathrow the same day at 22:25 and flights departing Mauritius on Mondays leave at 12:50, arriving into Heathrow at 21:15 the same day.

All flights to Mauritius will be operated on aircraft fitted with Virgin Atlantic’s new Upper Class Suite. The Upper Class Suite consists of a reclining seat for take off, a place to sit and eat a three course meal opposite your partner, the longest fully flat bed in the world with a proper mattress for sleeping on, a private onboard bar to drink at with your friends and a private massage zone – all at a price thousands of pounds less than other airlines’ First Class.

Virgin Atlantic offers a unique product for Premium Economy passengers. Passengers can enjoy dedicated check-in and priority boarding. Virgin Atlantic’s Economy class continues to offer passengers value for money and added extras like seat back televisions for all passengers with video on demand.
