Virgin Atlantic loves New York Virgin Atlantic has announced that it has teamed up with I Love New York (New York State Division of Tourism) to offer wine tasting in its flagship Clubhouse at Heathrow Terminal 3 this summer. During July and August, the airline’s Upper Class passengers will be able to sample six wines from New York State’s wine regions, including The Finger Lakes, Long Island, Niagara Escarpment and the Hudson Valley.

Before the wine tasting starts, the bar team in the Clubhouse, who are experienced mixologists, will be trained by James Trezise, President of the New York Wine & Grape Foundation. The wine tasting will supplement the wine and cocktail list available in the Clubhouse.

Paul Dickinson, Director of Sales & Marketing for Virgin Atlantic commented:

“It is our aim to offer our Upper Class passengers an ever changing and stimulating experience in the Heathrow Clubhouse. This will give passengers the opportunity to experience wines from one of the wine regions which is less well known here in the UK. We’re absolutely certain that it is going to be an educational and enjoyable experience''

Markly Wilson, Director, International Marketing, New York State Division of Tourism commented:

"New York State is a significant wine producing state in North America, and with wine tourism growing, this is an excellent opportunity to make travellers between London and New York aware of some of the superb wines and wine related tours available in the State Of New York. The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at Heathrow is generally regarded as one of the best in the world, having won many industry awards and we are delighted to be working with Virgin Atlantic on this brand alliance."

Since it opened two years ago, the Clubhouse has won a host of prestigious awards and last year was listed as one of the 12 coolest places to be on Earth in Arena magazine. The Clubhouse provides the ultimate pre-flight experience for every passenger with an array of exciting and unique areas. Passengers can enjoy a stylish haircut in the salon from Bumble and bumble; relax in the spa pool or sauna; choose from a range of Cowshed treatments; enjoy a game of pool in the Den; a blockbuster film in the Cinema; enjoy a delicious cocktail at the 14 metre long bar; and choose from the extensive Brasserie menu for a richer dining experience before their flight.
