Virgin Atlantic launches Pitch TV

22nd April 2009 Print
As part of its 25th birthday celebrations, Virgin Atlantic is launching a new show onboard its inflight entertainment system. PitchTV will be shown onboard all Virgin Atlantic flights from June 2009 and also be available on virgin.com.

Entrepreneurs in search of investment and exposure for their business ideas, will be invited to upload short video pitches to: http://entrepreneur.virgin.com/pitchtv/. The online community will vote for their favourite video pitches and each month, the winning videos will feature as part of Virgin Atlantic’s PitchTV show onboard flights – gaining exposure to the thousands of business professionals who regularly fly Virgin Atlantic. Anyone interested in hearing more about the most popular entrepreneurs’ business ideas will then be able to get in contact and maybe help take their ideas further.

Each PitchTV show will also feature exclusive interviews with guest entrepreneurs answering questions posed by Richard Branson’s Twitter and blog followers. So far, confirmed guest business personalities include Charles Dunstone (Carphone Warehouse), Michelle Mohan (Ultima), James Caan (Dragon’s Den) and Tony Hsieh (Zappos).

Sir Richard Branson, President of Virgin Atlantic commented:

"When I was starting out, I wish I could have had the chance to pitch my business ideas directly to people who could help make my ambitions a reality. We can now make that happen for you.

"If you're a budding entrepreneur, we're giving you the unique opportunity of getting your ideas by top business professionals from around the world onboard Virgin Atlantic planes as well online at virgin.com.

"Who knows – among the viewers might be someone with the power to bring your idea to life."

Entrepreneurs should film themselves delivering their best pitch possible, making sure it’s no longer than 2 minutes. Then they simply upload their video pitches here: http://entrepreneur.virgin.com/pitchtv/
