Graco offers a logical approach to car seat safety

Graco has redesigned its popular Logico S Group 0+ car seat, to create the Logico S HP, a stylish seat that’s even easier for parents to fit, and consequently even safer. So safe, in fact, that it has recently been awarded four stars at the latest European consumer testing by independent organisations ADAC and OEAMTC.

The independent tests are performed annually on a range of car seats throughout Europe and focus on safety through crash testing and usability. The Logico S HP was awarded a four star rating, which highlights the high performance of the car seat in safety and ease of use, making it one of the safest and most convenient infant carriers in Europe.

The new Logico S HP design works by minimising the risk of misuse by incorporating eye catching blue labels to help parents correctly route the lap and shoulder belts through the shell of the rearward facing seat, to ensure it is fitted safely and securely from baby’s very first car journey to every one thereafter.

The separate in-car base has also been adapted to complement these changes. Blue plastic indicators have also been used on the base to help parents guide and fit the seat belt with ease, and once the base is fixed, parents can install and uninstall the seat with just one click, without having to manipulate the seat belt or wake baby. The Logico S HP can also be used without a base for occasional journeys, providing flexibility for parents with two cars.

The recline control and one click release are now grey in colour. This enables parents to effortlessly distinguish them from the blue fitting indicators, and allows them to quickly and easily adjust the recline angle for maximum safety and comfort.

The Logico S HP goes beyond standard European regulations by offering reinforced side impact protection at head level and across the intuitive seat belt path, to offer maximum protection in the case of side impact. The seat is shaped to ensure that the baby’s head is kept in the ‘safe area’ away from the window and door of the car at all times, whilst the materials used to reinforce the seat absorb part of the energy in the event of an impact.

A new padded seat insert is also included to offer extra support to newborns. The insert can be removed easily from the seat without having to detach the harness, which allows the seat to grow with the child without having to rethread the harness. Elastics have been added to the side of the seat to keep the harness out of the way when not in use, making getting the baby in and out even easier.

Clear instruction labels and illustrations have been added onto the seat’s shell to provide parents with direct access to fitting information, regardless of whether the seat is fitted in the left or right side of the car.

Finally, the Logico S HP’s accompanying instruction manual now features a user-friendly format, which provides parents with clear, step-by-step fitting instructions to give them complete confidence that their seat has been fitted correctly.
