Green shoots materialise at Motorexpo

12th June 2009 Print
Motorexpo Motorexpo organisers have reported very positive feedback from manufacturers for their 2009 Canary Wharf London event. Exhibitors have confirmed the event has been a major success with many exceeding targets in both sales and leads generated. Even before the show closes on Sunday 14th June, preliminary results are stronger than organisers expected and appear to highlight more positive market conditions.

Manufacturers including BMW, Land Rover and Jaguar set new records on the opening day of the show with an increased number of test drives and sales leads taken than in previous years. Saab has also boasted returns of double their target anticipated levels of sales leads. This news comes in spite of the economic downturn, together with the RMT tube strike and adverse weather conditions of this week. Graeme Carver, Motorexpo managing director said: “We are delighted and a little amazed that our exhibitors have achieved success in such a tough market. It is great news for those that made the choice to attend. The positive results appear to support recent claims that the worst of the economic crisis is behind us and that we are now seeing green shoots beginning to appear”.

Looking to the future Carver continues, “Our 2010 event is already looking very strong with approximately one third of our space now under contract and record levels of enquiries”.
