Free oil checks could save drivers costly bills

16th June 2009 Print
Oil check With National Oil Check Week kicking into gear this week (June 15th to 19th), car care specialists Carcraft Service Centres are putting their weight behind the initiative with free oil checks for motorists.

The driving force behind the scheme is Comma Oil who aim to increase awareness amongst drivers of how important regular oil changes are.

A recent survey from the company shows over 50% of motorists don’t check their oil level – with one in twenty claiming they don’t know what a dipstick is!

Combined with the fact that more and more drivers are leaving it longer between services, car owners could be in for a shock when they run low on oil. The average engine repair bill is in excess of £1,400 – yet it could be so easy to avoid.

“It only takes a few minutes to have your oil levels checked” said Joe Conlin, Group Service Manager for Carcraft Service Centres. “Come to us during National Oil Check Week and we’ll even do it for free. It’s essential your car has sufficient oil if you want to avoid a hefty and unnecessary repair bill.”

Carcraft Service Centres offer a nationwide network of branches where motorists can count on dealership levels of service at less than fast-fit prices. Their Price Promise ensures that customers always get the best local deal – which includes a free courtesy car or collection and drop off service (subject to availability).
