7th September 2007 Print
Unveiling a dynamic new stand in the global village shared with sister company National Car Rental, Alamo Rent A Car is using WTM 2007 to confirm its commitment to making holiday car rental truly hassle-free.

With the option to pre-pay or pay locally at Alamo.co.uk, GPS services from a wide choice of locations worldwide and the launch of Kiosks in the US, Alamo is investing heavily in making car rental the first part of an enjoyable holiday.

Phil Eaton, recently appointed as Vice President International Sales and Marketing EMEA for Alamo says: “We’re treating WTM 2007 as a great opportunity to showcase the developments we have brought to market that really prove Alamo’s dedication to serving the leisure traveller. Whether it’s direct or through third party distribution channels, the customer experience is absolutely key and that’s why we put so much focus on making car rental a hassle-free experience, from beginning to end.”

Booking - Pre-pay or Pay Locally at alamo.co.uk
Budgeting for car rental has become a whole lot easier with the option to pre-pay or pay locally at Alamo.co.uk. Customers choosing to pre-pay simply select the destination from Alamo’s 3,800 locations worldwide, book their car rental and pay in GBP with a credit card. A range of discounts are provided on all pre-pay rentals ensuring customers can save money too. Reservation and prepayment can be made in just 4 easy steps from selection of location and vehicle through to final confirmation.

Check-in - Kiosks
This streamlined approach has been extended to vehicle collection. Travellers to the US will soon be able to take advantage of a speedier and easier car rental check-in service with the launch of industry’s first self-service rental kiosks from Alamo Rent A Car.

Alamo initially ran market tests in Jacksonville, Fla., Las Vegas, and Dallas in early 2006, and now has the industry’s largest operational system of 152 kiosks at 60 U.S. airports.

Phil Eaton comments: “Self-service check-in has had a huge impact on air travel and we are working on offering this stream-lined check-in facility to rental customers travelling from the UK and Europe, making the rental experience faster, easier and ‘hassle-free’. The development of these kiosks represents a real milestone in car rental history and demonstrates our commitment to listening to the needs of our customers.”

GPS
Then once en-route, customers can take advantage of the wide availability GPS units for hire from Alamo. Garmin StreetPilot c330 units are now available in approximately 150 locations throughout the US and Canada for only $10.99 per day. The StreetPilot features pre-loaded maps for North America, a bright 3.5-inch QVGA colour display, multiple text and voice languages, 3D map presentation and dual speakers for loud, clear instructions.

GPS equipment can also be obtained from selected locations in South Africa and is widely available across Europe, including all major UK airport locations.

Phil Eaton concludes: “WTM provides a great platform for us to communicate these exciting developments which really enhance the car rental experience for the leisure traveller. We look forward to receiving feedback from visitors to this year’s show.”
