Europcar to boost Children’s Hospices’ funds

11th April 2008 Print
The UK’s leading vehicle rental company, Europcar, has strengthened its support of The Association of Children’s Hospices (ACH), with a commitment to donate 50% of the profit from all UK bookings made via children’s hospice websites.

The ACH charity brings together over 40 children’s hospices throughout the UK. These services are dedicated to the care of children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and their families. Europcar has created links from the website for each children’s hospice to facilitate online bookings for car and van rental. Every booking made has the guarantee that the price will be no higher than if the customer had gone directly to Europcar and 50% of the profit from the rental will go to the charity.

Carl Gothard, Europcar’s Direct Sales and Partnership Manager said: “This development clearly demonstrates our commitment to supporting ACH – we hope that the friends and family of the 41 children’s hospices around the country will not only take advantage of this booking facility but spread the word so that we can really generate as much money as we can for the ACH.”

The booking facility follows a highly successful fundraising campaign by Europcar at Christmas when a whopping £1000 was raised through Christmas e-cards and a raffle prize draw.

Carl Gothard, visited Keech Cottage Children’s Hospice in Luton to present the cheque to Julian Hall, Head of Fundraising for ACH.

Keech Cottage provides support to families from across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes who are caring for children with life-limiting conditions. The staff offer medical and social care, emotional support and friendship to the whole family, throughout the child’s illness and after their death.

Julian Hall, Head of Fundraising at the Association of Children’s Hospices comments; “This support from Europcar is just fantastic and helps increase the profile of the important work done by ACH and Keech Cottage. Every penny counts when providing support to the children that use our services and this on going commitment is invaluable”.
