Award win for Avis China

24th June 2008 Print
Avis China has been recognised as a leader in Service Quality at one of Beijing’s leading travel trade shows, COTTM 2008 - proof if any were needed that Avis’ ‘We Try Harder’ values translate into Mandarin Chinese as well as any other language. Launched in 2004, the prestigious CTW Awards are granted by an independent international jury and cover five categories: Service Quality, Product Development, Marketing, Internet/New Media, and Overall Performance.

Winners were drawn from all continents and for the first time, China-based companies, including Avis China, picked up the most awards this year. “Chinese tourists are increasingly willing to pay more for better service” said Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Georg Arlt, Director of the German-based China Outbound Tourism Research Institute “The CTW Award helps them to identify destinations and service providers which are going the extra mile to cater to the specific needs and expectations of Chinese travellers. With more than 40 million Chinese travelling cross border in 2007, this is a market which cannot be ignored.”

Lucy Barawitzka, Deputy General Manager, Sales and Marketing is delighted with this endorsement of Avis in China: “This has been a great boost for the team here, especially as everyone is working so hard to excel in the run up to the Olympic Games this August”.
