Icelandair soars on the silver screen

14th May 2008 Print
An Icelandair Boeing 757 will make its screen debut alongside superstar Brendan Fraser and Icelandic newcomer Anita Briem in New Line Cinema’s summer blockbuster Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D. The movie is based on Jules Verne’s sci-fi masterpiece, in which Snaefellsjökull glacier in Iceland conceals the secret entrance to the center of the Earth.

Besides being filmed in eye-popping 3D, Hollywood brings this classic into the modern era with the story of a scientist (Fraser) searching for his missing brother. His quest brings him to Iceland where he, his nephew and their mountain guide (Briem) stumble upon a fantastic and dangerous lost world at the center of the Earth.

The film is slated for release in July 11, but if you just can’t wait, passengers flying on board Icelandair aircraft equipped with the new entertainment sys- tem can catch a sneak preview of the scene featuring the fleet’s most famous Boeing 757. Let’s just hope all this attention doesn’t go to her head!
