Icelandair temporarily suspends Glasgow service

Due to the current economic conditions and a projected decrease in passenger traffic, Icelandair will temporarily suspend service from Glasgow from 26th March 2009 until 27th August 2009, with the exception of the Easter period flights on 9th and 12th April. Following the suspension, service will resume with two flights a week to Iceland, connecting onwards to six North American destinations.

Hjörvar Sæberg Högnason, General Manager UK & Ireland, said, “Regretfully due to the present economic climate and a decrease in projected passenger demand from Iceland, we are forced to temporarily cancel our Glasgow service. We value our Glasgow customers and will work with those who have booked flights during this period to secure alternative travel arrangements.”
