Aerlingus.com achieves record sales

Aer Lingus' "January World Clearance Sale" reached record levels on Monday (21st January), with almost 51,000 seats booked on the airlines website, Aerlingus.com, in just one day. This is the highest level of online sales achieved in one day so far this year, and is a 50% increase on the same day last year.

As a result of this incredible demand for cheap seats, Aer Lingus have extended the sale for a further three days until midnight Thursday 24th January on selected European routes. Fares have also been reduced even further on 30 of the most popular routes for travel up until 31st March 2008.

Popular routes booked were to winter sun destinations such as Maderia and Malaga, as well as on the airline's new summer services to Lanzarote and Las Palmas, and new route for 2008, Ibiza.

During the seat sale, Aer Lingus are offering one-way fares inclusive of taxes and charges from as little as €10 to the UK, €26 to Europe and €209 to the USA.
