Aer Lingus continues travel insurance partnership

22nd February 2008 Print
Aer Lingus today formally announced that it is continuing its successful partnership with Mondial Assistance Ireland to administer travel insurance solutions for its European customers.

Now in its second year, the travel insurance administration contract is a pan-European deal to provide dynamically packaged travel insurance and local language sites to European customers via Aerlingus.com.

Following a competitive tendering process, Aer Lingus chose the Mondial Assistance Group to administer its travel insurance policies, thanks to Mondial's experience of delivering online comprehensive insurance products to web users across the world.

The Irish and UK travel insurance administration websites were successfully launched in December of last year and were quickly followed by twelve more country sites, to include Aer Lingus markets such as Spain, Germany, Italy, France and The Netherlands.

The cheaper travel insurance premiums, which were reduced by up to 33% compared to previous premium prices, and the consistently high cover levels are giving Aer Lingus passengers a comprehensive insurance product that has the support of Mondial's worldwide network of insurance and emergency medical assistance platforms.

Commenting on the announcement, Aer Lingus Deputy Chief Executive, Niall Walsh said:

"With Mondial Assistance as our travel insurance administration partner, Aer Lingus customers can now book excellent value travel insurance at competitive rates. Moreover, customers now have the convenience of booking their travel insurance at the same time as booking a flight, all in the one seamless transaction on aerlingus.com"

Martin Lyons, Director General of Mondial Assistance in Ireland said: "We are delighted with our on-going partnership with Aer Lingus. Our bespoke and efficient insurance administration packages offer real value to their passengers and will fulfil our client's needs into the future.

“The technology available through our group platforms, ensure we can deliver innovative products online, with the back up of our network of insurance and emergency medical platforms across Aer Lingus's expanding network."
