Aer Lingus announces transatlantic winter schedule

Aer Lingus today announced details of its winter schedule from Dublin and Shannon airports. From the end of October Aer Lingus will operate double daily flights from Dublin to New York, daily flights from Dublin to Boston, four flights a week from Dublin to Washington and from Dublin to San Francisco and three flights a week from Dublin to Los Angeles and from Dublin to Orlando.

From Shannon the airline will operate daily direct flights from Shannon to Boston, daily direct flights from Shannon to New York and daily flights to Chicago via Dublin.

Speaking at the announcement Aer Lingus Corporate Affairs Director, Enda Corneille said, "Today's announcement reaffirms Aer Lingus' commitment to Shannon airport and indeed our customer base in the West of Ireland. The Open Skies agreement has given us the opportunity to expand into new markets in North America and to further consolidate our position on the North Atlantic.

“The two new long haul aircraft we took delivery of last year, have enhanced our long haul fleet and given us the leverage to significantly expand our operation into North America. This is a very significant year for Aer Lingus as we mark the 50th anniversary of transatlantic flights on the 28 April next."
