Aer Lingus expects to carry in excess of 125,000 passengers into and out of Ireland across all of the airline's routes to and from the UK, Europe and the United States over this busy Easter Bank Holiday period, Friday 21st to Monday 24th March inclusive. This is an increase of nearly 20% from Easter last year.

Popular routes for the weekend include the sun destinations of Faro with Aer Lingus flights now available from Dublin, Cork and Belfast, as well as to the Canary islands now with year round service. Geneva is also a busy route as a gateway to the ski resorts of Switzerland and France. Popular European city-break destinations include Prague, Berlin, Paris and London.

Commenting on these figures, Enda Corneille, Aer Lingus Corporate Affairs Director said;

"We have experienced a high level of demand for flights over the Easter Bank Holiday period, with popular routes proving to be sun destinations such as Alicante, Malaga and Nice, as well as to a range of European and US cities. This demand by passengers to fly with Aer Lingus is further testament to the airline's great choice of destinations, low fares and excellent customer service".
