Aer Lingus celebrates a milestone this month having recorded over one million bookings on aerlingus.com for the month of March.

The airline's website experienced a huge surge in bookings during March with the highest number of daily visitors recorded on March 10th when almost 250,000 visitors logged on to aerlingus.com to avail of the massive Summer Sale, which offered 30% off fares on every seat, on every flight, to all destinations to the UK and Europe for travel this summer.

In addition to the Aer Lingus European Summer Sale, there were red-hot deals on flights to the USA, with fares starting from as little as €199.00 one-way including taxes and charges. Aer Lingus is also offering great fares in partnership with JetBlue Airways to an additional 25 US cities, including its most popular destination, Las Vegas.

"While consumer sentiment remains low, we recognise that our customers need a break from the recessionary doom and gloom and we have reacted to ensure that our offering has stimulated demand in the market.

“These record sales figures are testament to our commitment to delivering low fares which represent outstanding value for money to our customers. We continue to offer our customers our unique proposition of low fares coupled with an unbeatable quality service through aerlingus.com," said Enda Corneille, Aer Lingus Corporate Affairs Director.

Last month Aer Lingus set a new precedent with a special launch fare of £9.99 from its new base at London Gatwick Airport and further extended the offer to its customers in Northern Ireland.

In addition to great low fares, aerlingus.com also offers discounts on over 80,000 hotels worldwide, Hertz car hire and travel insurance.
