Aer Lingus celebrates double award win

29th April 2009 Print
Aer Lingus was voted "Best Short Haul airline" and "Best Long Haul airline" last week by the Irish Consumer Travel Awards at a star-studded gala event at the RDS in Dublin.

Aer Lingus saw off competition from a number of carriers including Ryanair, BMI, and Virgin to land the prestigious honours.

Hosted by Kathryn Thomas, presenter of RTE's No Frontiers, the awards recognise the very best of the travel industry as voted for by the Irish consumer.

The awards were created by ebookers.ie and Abroad Magazine in association with the Irish Times. Unlike any other awards related to the travel industry, members of the public were invited to rate all the aspects of the travel industry that affect them.

Commenting on the award, Aer Lingus Director of Corporate Affairs Enda Corneille said, "This is a tremendous honour for the whole Aer Lingus team. The fact that these awards have been voted on by Irish consumers demonstrates our customers' awareness of the excellent value for money and quality service on offer from Aer Lingus. Consumers continue to choose Aer Lingus over the competition and these awards are recognition of this."
