‘There’s more to Iceland’ says airline company

2nd February 2009 Print

Low-cost airline Iceland Express is out to show there is more to its beautiful country than a collapsed economy. With the launch of Iceland Express’ new Gatwick route fast approaching – the budget airline is taking time out to educate South-East travel agents about Iceland.

By hearing the facts, speaking to the experts, tasting the Brenninvin (Icelandic liquor) and experiencing the warmth of the Icelandic people – agents can learn all about holidaying in this unique country.

The workshop will take place on Monday 16 February 2009, at the Sofitel Hotel Gatwick, North Terminal, from 9.30am until 4pm. Agents will also have a chance to win a ‘once in a lifetime’ fam trip.

Iceland Express has teamed up with key partners for the event including the Icelandic Tourist Board, BAA, Visit Reykjavik, Center Hotels, the Blue Lagoon, Iceland Excursions, Snaefridur, author of 50 Crazy Things to Do in Iceland and Charlie Strand, author of Project Iceland.

Iceland Express will commence flying eight times per week between London Gatwick and Reykjavik from 1 May 2009. This will replace the daily service between London Stansted and Reykjavik. Prices start from £69.00 one way including taxes.

Places at the workshop are limited and can be reserved by emailing icelandexpress@flightdirectors.com.
