DVLA Personalised Registrations lifts the chequered flag on the perfect retirement present for FIA president Max Mosely – F1 MAX.

While Bernie Ecclestone and the rest of the F1 paddock may be scratching their heads at to what to buy the enigmatic Mr Mosely - who has been FIA president for an unprecedented four terms since 1993 - they need look no further than the rather befitting personalised registration being sold by DVLA at the RBS Williams F1 Conference Centre in Wantage, Oxfordshire, on Wednesday, August 5.

The three-day event, which climaxes on Friday, August 7, features a whole plethora of F1-related registrations including F1 BOS, F1 BUG, F1 FRA, F1 GER, F1 GOV, F1 GUY, F1 HOT and F1 SPY to name but a few. With the exception of F1 MAX, which has a reserve of £1,000, all have reserves of £900.

For Mercedes fans, F1 AMG and F1 SLK, together with S65 AMG will also fall under the hammer. However, PRO 55T would also prove a classic tribute to the legendary French multi-world champion, Alain Prost – incredibly visitors can peruse his 1993 World Championship winning set within Williams’ priceless collection, heralded as the world’s largest private collection of F1 cars parked under one roof.

Damian Lawson, DVLA Personalised Registrations’ Marketing Manager, said: “We’ve planned a Formula One feast for our next auction, those above barely scratch the surface of the motorsport-related registrations included in the 1,600 being offered among the regular mix of fun and personal plates.”

The auction will consist of an eclectic mix of personalised registrations including some to suit all car owners and motorists with of all tastes including ALF 4D (£450), APE 10 (£1,900), A1 LOY (£1,000), BOW 71E (£400), 5 CLS (£1,900), CRA 7E (£450), F1 ATT (£900), H15 BOY (£900), H15 SON (£900), L1 CKS (£900), 1 MUT (£3,200), 4 O (£8,000), OFF 4 (£1,900), ST08 ART (£900), TUR 80D (£500), 6 W (£8,000).
