Palletways member adds Eurocargos to its fleet

The orders were placed with Iveco distributor Bristol Street Commercials based on the company’s positive experience operating a Eurocargo for the past two years.
"We simply can’t fault the Eurocargo as it hasn’t missed a beat since joining the fleet. In comparison, we have found other 18 tonners to be either too heavy or too thirsty, whilst the Iveco gives us a healthy payload and only needs refuelling once a week. You can’t argue with performance like that," says Andy Mead, Managing Director of Just Vans South West.
Benefiting from Iveco’s medium roof sleeper cab, this latest fleet replacement has been fitted with a 26 ft curtainside body and 1,500 kg tuck-away tail-lift. It is in operation five days a week covering up to 100,000 km a year, and is finished in the distinctive Palletways corporate livery.
Just Vans South West operates a fleet of 30 commercial vehicles, ranging in size from 3.5 tonne vans to maximum weight tractor units. Since joining the Palletways network two years ago the company has doubled its turnover, and routinely collects and delivers between 150 and 200 pallets a day within its territory.
The new vehicle is powered by a 240 hp version of Iveco’s proven 5.9 litre tector engine, which develops up to 810 Nm of torque between 1,250 and 2,100 rev/min. It has been specified with a six-speed manual synchromesh gearbox, to suit the rural and urban delivery work it will be used for.
The Eurocargo 180E24 is just one model in a considerable line-up of vehicles that can be mission-matched to all types of applications, with over 3,000 possible configurations available from the 300 basic models.
